Blame Public Schools For Those Crazed Lefties

Carole Hornsby Haynes, Ph.D.     August 27, 2017   World Net Daily

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped.  Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ― George Orwell, 1984

The progressive socialist left wants to erase all history relating to the Civil War and the Confederacy.  They absolutely do not want America to know it was Southern Democrats who supported slavery and were behind Jim Crow, the Ku Klux Klan, literacy tests and poll taxes. They do not want America to know they opposed the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments.

And they are getting plenty of help from liberal university presidents and faculty, city government, and public education boards of education.  Falling all over themselves, they waste time and taxpayer money yanking down statutes of Confederate generals that have been in place for decades – all because they don’t want to offend those leftist socialists.  They need to remember who employs them.

The University of Texas president Gregory Fenves’ has caved to socialist hysteria, quietly removing four Confederate statutes early Monday morning to avoid protests.  His lame excuse –  “Confederate monuments have become symbols of modern white supremacy and neo-Nazism.”  Those monuments would not be symbols of neo-Nazism if cowardly “leaders” did not fear being called rascist by enemies of America, including the Workers World Party, Industrial Workers of the World, Democratic Socialists of America, and the Antifa gang.

In Dallas, the liberal City Council is scrambling to appease the radical left, vowing to remove statutes from Lee Park in pricey Turtle Creek.  Despite their already bloated budget, they are willing to add millions to get rid of the “offending” statutes.  They are giving no thought to how much they are offending thousands of constituents.

Scott Carlson of Briggs Freeman Sotheby, worrying about how the statutes affect the price of Turtle Creek real estate, ventured that Dallas should keep the horse and remove the statue of Lee, while adding a statute of Dr. Maya Angelou.

Now that shouldn’t offend the left. This madam/actress/communist/all around phony as described by Daniel J. Flynn in Spectator was hard left, embracing Fidel Castro, Malcolm X and Bill Clinton.  Dallas has stupidly named schools after this Communist madam who did not have a college degree or students – a doctor without a doctorate and a teacher without students.

The Six Flags Over Texas Park, famous for its flags of the six nations that have governed what is now the Lone Star State -- France, Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States of America, and the Confederate States of America – has timidly agreed to haul down the Confederate flag.  Now only Old Glory is flying and name change will likely be just a few days away.

Dallas Independent School board president Dan Micciche wrote that the board will address renaming schools, "I don't have an answer for a young African American student who asks, 'Why is this school named after someone who fought to keep my ancestors enslaved?' I don't have an answer for that."

Since public schools across the nation, including those in the Dallas ISD, have revised history so that few really know the truth about the Civil War, this is not a surprising answer.

Check out any public school textbooks for lessons on the Civil War.  Entire chapters are devoted to slavery and the Civil War, yet little is written about the important role of the protective tariffs in pre-Civil War days. Little is written about the cultural differences between the North and South, or the differences in philosophies over centralization versus states’ rights, Christianity versus Secular Humanism, or the economic issues between the North and South.  The impression is that all Southerners were fighting to protect slavery, yet there is almost no mention that most Southerners did not even own slaves or that free blacks also owned black slaves.

A central fact obscured is that the North was deeply implicated in slavery and slave trade right up to the war.

Democrats hypocritically ignore that West Virginia Democrat Senator Robert Byrd was a member and local leader of the KKK.  Students have no idea about the shift made by blacks in political parties or why.  They don’t know and/or and refuse to believe that Martin Luther King was a Republican.

We can thank government schools for trashing Classical teaching to implement John Dewey’s progressivism that uses schools to drive political and social change.  Dewey was an avowed socialist and secular humanist. Thanks also go to the Carnegie Corporation for funding the study that recommended changing America from a free enterprise economic system to a collective economy through indoctrination in social sciences courses.  Today 49 percent of 18-29 year-olds favor socialism to capitalism.

Pubic schools are being used to foster racial hatred and violence to achieve the left’s overthrow of America.

The only way to stop this is to scrap public schools that are indoctrination centers for teaching hatred of America and our Christian faith.  It’s time to send our education dollars to schools that will teach kids to read, write, and cipher along with appreciating the freedom that millions living under dictators would give their lives to have.

Democrats may just find that statute-toppling and name changing to decimate America’s history may be their undoing.   There is a coming backlash by those whites who are tired of being ridiculed, scorned, belittled and called racists, deplorables, and rednecks by the open-minded Progressives.
