DEI Decimates U.S. Military

Since President Biden signed an Executive Order last February, purportedly to prioritize advance racial equity and favor the “underserved communities,” our federal government has been transformed into a Woke Marxist DEI industry. The order directed all federal agencies to provide special treatment for non-whites, LGBT, pregnant women, religious groups, and immigrants. Czars are appointed for each agency to establish total government control over the workforce, education, medical, energy, finance, legal, housing, military, transportation, national security, and social security. Punishment and segregation are based on race, ancestry, and gender.
Already federal DEI initiatives have taken a heavy toll on our military. Recruitment is in a state of crisis which Republicans blame partly on DEI policies. In the last fiscal year, the Army was at only 75 percent of its 60,000 goal while the Navy and Air Force barely met targets for active duty personnel. The Center for Strategic and International Studies called the current military recruiting environment "the worst recruiting crisis since the creation of the all-volunteer force nearly 50 years ago.” Drag queens are being used to entice recruits, yet serve only to create public antagonism and disdain toward the military. Foreign nations laugh at us while China rattles the sabre.
Not only is recruitment a problem for our military, but also mental illness. According to Department of Defense (DOD) data, between 2016 and 2020 nearly half a million active-duty service members were diagnosed with at least one mental health disorder. As of 2021, the Pentagon has spent $11.5 million for psychotherapy and $3.1 million for surgeries.
Instead of military readiness, the Navy and Marine Corps are focused on service members being able to confidentially request a mental health referral and treatment. They have implemented the Brandon Act whichbecame law under President Biden in late 2021 as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022. Not only does the DOD provide traditional counseling but also gender affirming hormone therapy. Numerous types of multilation surgery are approved by the Defense Health Agency.
The public is calling for defunding of these woke military policies by Congress. The House, in a 219 to 210 vote on the final version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, supported the overturn of the DOD’s funding for sex-change treatments, race-based admission of military academies, abortion travel, administrative roles based on diversity rather than merit, and limiting the type of flags permitted to fly at military.
The bill has been sent to the Senate.
With focus on woke policies, the military is prevented from focusing on its primary mission: the defense of America. Military readiness is crucial, not only to win wars but to prevent wars. The American people should be afraid -- very afraid – for our nation’s secruity.
What can the American people do?
Politicization of our military can -- and must -- be stopped by "we the people" standing up for the rule of law and freedom. Burn up the phone lines with calls to your U.S. Senators to demand that they support defunding all woke policies in the military as well as in the entire federal government. Then check to see how your Senator voted and follow up with a call to your Senator’s office to express thanks or displeasure, depending upon the vote.
