U.S. Army War College Caves to CAIR

By Carole Hornsby Haynes, Ph.D.        June 15, 2019

Anyone who dares to criticize Islam will be shamed, reviled, called an Islamophobe or white nationalist, and even disinvited to speak at an event. The most recent disinvitation is the lecture by Raymond Ibrahim on June 19 at the prestigious 50th Annual Lecture Series of the U.S. Army War College.

Raymond Ibrahim is the son of Egyptian Coptic Christian immigrants, a prolific scholar on Islamic history, sought after speaker, and one of the most esteemed and intrepid experts on the threat from Islamic jihad and Sharia.

When the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) learned that Ibrahim was scheduled to speak at the War College, their propaganda and character assassination mechanism shifted into high gear. CAIR sent a letter to USAWC with a demand to rescind Ibrahim’s invitation. They professed concern was that “Raymond Ibrahim’s book…. advance[s] a simplistic, inaccurate and often prejudicial view of the long history of Muslim-West relations....”

CAIR shamed the War College and predicted that allowing Ibrahim to lecture about his new book, Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West, would create dangerous perceptions about Islam and Muslims among the military.

Next, CAIR issued a press release and a petition in which they accused Ibrahim of being a notorious “Islamophobe” and “white nationalist” and claimed that USAWC is “endorsing and fostering anti-Muslim hate within the military by inviting Ibrahim.”

Because CAIR was not able to debate Mr. Ibrahim’s superb qualifications and his own personal experience as an Egyptian Coptic Christian, they used character assassination to bully the War College.

The truth is that CAIR has a cozy relationship with HAMAS, a foreign terrorist organization, and is a front organization for the Muslim Brotherhood. They are successfully shutting down anyone who dares to criticize Islam, which has become a U.S. government protected religion and the only religion which Americans are not allowed to criticize. Yet Muslims openly bully Christians and Jews in our own homeland.

Muslims are fanatically driven to convert the U.S. to an Islamic nation under their barbaric Sharia law. While our military quakes in their boots, Muslims are emboldened about their own long range plan: “... our final objective is not just to become part of the system but to make all of America Muslim….and we have to be very calculating about it or else we will not accomplish our goals.”.

Why would one of our most prestigious American military academic institutions cave to the demands of this terrorist organization – our enemy?  Instead of caving to Muslim demands and “postponing” Ibrahim’s speech, the War College should tell CAIR to take a hike.

The War College should be ashamed all right. It should be ashamed that it has tucked its tail between its legs and put our national security in danger. When did the Army become second rate cowards?

If we can't depend on the Army to defend us here at home, who can we depend on? Our national security must be their top priority.  They have sworn to uphold the Constitution and the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.  And that includes allowing Raymond Ibrahim the right to speak.  And we need to tell them so with an email or call.

Furthermore, why are members of the Muslim Brotherhood holding positions within our government?  Why is the government not declaring the MB a terrorist organization and kicking it out of the country?

Americans should be alarmed that our American military and federal government are cozy with the enemy.
