Is Texas Being Transformed Into a Shariah State?
By Carole Hornsby Haynes May 7, 2026
In 1982 the Muslim Brotherhood issued a 12 point plan, “The Project,” that aims to spread Islam and Islamist influence in the West. The goal is to create self-sustaining parallel societies that will serve as long term bases for gradually implementing Shariah and Islamic dominance.
Texas is one of the key locations in this plan.
Islam is spreading like wildfire as Muslims flock to the Lone Star state. There has been a 30 percent growth in the DFW area since 2010 with the current population estimated at 400,000-500,000. Texas is now the fifth-largest Muslim state by raw numbers, behind New York, California, Illinois, and New Jersey.
Most Muslims in Texas live in the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan areas, which house the largest, most diverse communities in the state.
With an increase in the Muslim population has come an increase in the number of mosques. Over the past two years, 50 new mosques have been built with the total at 330 (see map), making Texas one of the fastest growing centers for mosques and Muslim population in the U.S.
A mosque is the center for all Islamic life. A mosque is a place for worship. A mosque serves as a center of Islamic education. A mosque is where Shariah court is held. A mosque is where major Islamic holidays and festivities are held. A mosque is a social hub. A mosque plays a role in civic and political affairs. A mosque is a place for refuge and hospitality. A mosque has food pantries, clothing drives, financial assistance programs, and other charitable outreach. A mosque sometimes is used to store weapons.
Islamic Network Creates ‘Homeland’ In America
Muslims never assimilate in their host country. Instead they create their own intact Islamic communities within larger areas and threaten non-Muslims who enter.
The Islamic Center of Irving is part of the larger mosque-centered Islamic network that is constructing parallel societies across the Dallas Fort Worth area. As a central hub, it links housing, education, shariah compliant services, student programs and political access. It is this hub with hundreds of mosques, Islamic schools, student programs, and non-profits in Plano, Frisco, Richardson, and Irving that allows Muslims to live “as if in the homeland” without having to assimilate as Americans.
Red-Green Axis Scores Political Victory in Irving, Texas
In an alliance of the far left (red) and Islamists (green), Muslims are rapidly infiltrating the political arena in Irving, Texas. Fahad Ahmed won the Place 6 city council seat with 50.6% of the vote on May 1, 2026. Incumbent Muslim Councilman Abdul Khabeer heads to the runoff after defeating fellow Muslim Tammam Alwan for Place 3.
The candidates were endorsed by the Irving Muslims Pac and Soros-backed Sunrise Movement. The Pac has built a powerful voter bloc through multiple candidate forums, including the mayoral forum, and a voter registration drive at Las Colinas Islamic Center after Friday prayers.
Deeply engaged in the Irving Islamic community, all of the candidates will use the American legal system to change policy to benefit the Islamic agenda.
Incumbent Abdul Khabeer serves on the Construction Committee for the Islamic Center of Irving, which oversees physical expansion and development projects for the mosque.
Alwan, Khabeer’s previous opponent, is positioned at the center of a large Islamic network as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Valley Ranch Islamic Center. The mosque is one of the largest and most influential in the Dallas Fort Worth area.
Ahmed serves as President of the Valley Ranch Master Association, the HOA for the neighborhood around the Valley Ranch Islamic Center.
The far left of the Red-Green Axis, theSunrise Movement is a radical youth “climate” organization closely connected to Antifa and funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations. The groupsupports the Palestinian movement, despite the fact that a billionaire Jew funds their organization.
Serving on the Irving city council will allow Muslims to exert influence on zoning for new mosques, for public events, and for law enforcement priorities. Muslim city council members will have an influence on school curricula.
We have already been alerted that Muslims intend to influence our school curricula at the state level. CAIR representatives, testifying recently before the Texas State Board of Education, demanded that our Texas and American history curriculum standards be revised. They want Islam to be recognized as having an influence on the founding of our country and on the history of the Alamo.
Islamic Honor Killing in Irving, Texas
Irving has been in the national news in the past for complying with Shariah. On New Year’s Day in 2008, Yaswer Adel Said drove his two teenage daughters in his taxi to Irving. He confronted them over their dating non-Muslims and the dishonor they were bringing to his family. He shot both of them multiple times. Fleeing from the police, he was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list until 2020 when he was captured. Although his lawyers tried to frame the murder as an honor killing under Shariah, our Constitution does not recognize Islamic law. Said was sentenced to life in prison in 2022.
Are Tax Dollars Funding Private Muslim Events?
A private event at a city-owned waterpark in Grand Prairie that will exclude non-Muslims has sparked a growing backlash. The “3rd Annual DFW Epic Eid,” organized by East Plano Islamic Center, is booked at the Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark.
A flyer posted on social media about the June 1 event with halal food and a private prayer area went viral after Blaze TV host Sara Gonzales sounded the alarm that non-Muslims were banned.
Nationally syndicated radio host Dana Loesch questioned how a city-owned park could discriminate against non-Muslims. The park receives funding from a voter-approved sales tax.
At the center of the controversy is a Constitutional issue that we are going to see repeatedly as Muslims flock to America and refuse to assimilate. The question is this: Can a taxpayer funded venue legally restrict access based on religion to a privately organized, ticketed event?
Governor Greg Abbott has answered that question. His office sent a letter to the city of Grand Prairie threatening to yank their public safety grants if they don’t cancel the event. He cited state and federal statutes relating to civil rights and nondiscrimination. If they fail to cancel by May 11, the city must return $530,000 to the state.
This morning Governor Abbott posted on X:
“A city-owned water park in Grand Prairie openly advertised a "MUSLIMS ONLY" event -- closed to the general public.
That's religious discrimination. It's unconstitutional. I signed HB 4211 into law -- banning Muslim only no-go zones in Texas.
The City must cancel the event and commit to never allowing something like it again by May 11th, or lose $530,000 in state grants.
Let this be a lesson to local officials: Facilities funded by ALL taxpayers are not just for a subset of Texans.”
It worked! Grand Prairie has announced that it is canceling the event!
Proposed Shariah Cities in Texas
Muslims are planning self-sustaining Sharia enclaves in various locations in Texas. Epic City, now rebranded “The Meadow,” is a self-sustaining parallel society near Josephine, Texas. Initiated by the East Plano Islamic Center, the 402 acre project will have 1000 residential homes, a mosque, K-12 Islamic school, community college, and commercial developments. It is under ongoing investigation by the state with one of the concerns being a violation of the Fair Housing Act. The development has been halted by the state for now.
In rural Katy, Texas, Muslim Brothood operative, Main Al Qudah, is developing a 30 acre, Sharia-adherent Islamic enclave. It features a grand mosque, K-12 islamic school, Islamic university, apartments, health clinic, sports fields, and a strip mall.
In February 2026, residents raised concerns that a Dubai-based development company was planning to purchase thousands of acres near Kaufman, Texas to build a “sustainable city” for up to 20,000 foreign nationals. Attorney General Paxton announced an investigation into the illegal “Shariah city.” The Middle East developers decided to withdraw their proposed plans.
Conclusion
Americans are becoming aware of the dangerous Red-Green Axis that is waging legal jihad against their common enemy, the United States to change our culture, our laws, and our values. They are actively getting elected to local, state, and federal political positions. Americans must become as active as our enemies. That means we must turn out en masse at the voting polls. We must find commited candidates to run against the enemy. We must continue to protest Muslim-only communities and events.
This is not going to be a short term war. Our enemies will never stop trying to overthrow the United States.
Our colonial ancestors had to fight for their freedom. Our freedom is at stake again. What will you do to keep yours?
