Bush sent a letter to the Texas State Board of Education about removing from the social studies curriculum standards the Travis letter and “heroic” from descriptions of the Alamo defenders. He argued that the recommended changes are not about “trimming class time” but rather about “diluting Texas history” and influencing what students will learn about our past.

Last September the Dallas City Council quickly removed the Robert E. Lee statue, a magnificent bronze equestrian sculpture, and now they want to bulldoze the Confederate War Memorial located in Pioneer Park Cemetery. They plan to erect a lynching memorial, explaining they want to forget the past and bring racial harmony to Dallas. Yet they provide fake details about the lynching.

Despite billions of dollars being dumped into government schools, nearly 5 0 percent of Americans can barely read while some cannot read at all.

According to the Department of Justice, “The link between academic failure and delinquency, violence, and crime is welded to reading failure.” The s tatistics back up this claim: 85 percent of all juveniles who interface with the juvenile court system are functionally illiterate, and over 60 percent of inmates in America’s prisons cannot read above a fourth grade level. Two-thirds of students who cannot read proficiently by the end of the fourth grade will end up in jail or on welfare.

They absolutely do not want America to know it was Southern Democrats who supported slavery and were behind Jim Crow, the Ku Klux Klan, literacy tests and poll taxes. They do not want America to know they opposed the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments.
