Texas Public Schools To Become Psychiatric Centers (SB 10) Talking Points
By Carole Hornsby Haynes, Ph.D. March 20, 2019
Under the guise of “safe schools” from gun violence and student mental health problems, SB 10 was passed by the Texas Senate. All 32 Senators sponsored the bill.
Public schools now mental health clinics
Via federal funding, public schools have become mental health clinics. SB10 opens the door for school districts to operate as mental health providers with psychiatry colleges located on school campuses. Medical solutions offered by these colleges include drugs.
Kids Are Revenue
Pushing community mental health providers into public education means a steady revenue stream for the psychiatry profession by diagnosing children with mental disorders which will then be treated with drugs from Big Pharma.
Consequences of Diagnostic Errors
An error in diagnosis can ruin lives and careers since the stored data is made available to third parties including colleges, military, and prospective employers.
Drug Addiction
Records of assessments, whether real or just imagined by a mental health provider, will follow children the rest of their lives. Many will become dependent on the highly addictive psychotropic drugs.
Loss of Fourth Amendment rights
Federal grants for school mental health services require massive amounts of highly personal student data including medical, social/emotional, and psychological data. None of this is protected by HIPPA. The data for mental health grants will be shared across all government agencies under the de facto national database and with outside interests.
Loss of Second Amendment rights
SB 10 is a red flag law under which a student can be asked about who in his center of influence owns guns. It is inevitable that some students and even family or friends will be stripped of their Second Amendment rights.
Loss of First Amendment rights
Political abuse of psychiatric diagnosis is routinely used in socialist countries to stifle political dissent.
