Buffalo Teachers Union Continues Gouge of Taxpayers for Tummy Tucks

Since 2004 when the Buffalo Teachers Federation signed a new contract with the Buffalo Board of Education (BOE), which oversees New York State’s second largest school district outside of New York City, teachers have been gouging taxpayers for cosmetic surgery. Yet there has been a lack of basic resources to satisfy minimum state requirements for the high poverty area schools.

Unionized College Athletics: Another Liberal Boondoggle

College sports have long been an important part of college life. Now thanks to the liberal agenda of social justice, that now seems to be going by the wayside like so many other things American.

Unions, desperate for new members – i.e. more money to control the political arena -- have targeted college athletics as new territory. Not lost on them has been the highly lucrative business of college sports for many universities.

Teachers’ Unions: Roadblock to Reform

The American Citizens Handbook of the National Education Association published in mid-twentieth century reflects a decidedly different NEA from that of today. The Handbook included selections for children to memorize—Bible verses, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord’s Prayer. How different is the policy resolution adopted at the 2009 NEA convention -- ‘Freedom of Religion' -- that “...opposes any federal legislation or mandate that would require school districts to schedule a moment of silence.”
